Vrindavan

 

Vrindavan is a universal pilgrimage place with an ancient tradition.

Many Sadhus (holy men), spiritual masters and pilgrims from all over the world

comes to visit the holy places.

 

Vrindavan is the village (originally means the forest of the area) in wich 5000 years before, God in his form as cowherd-boy Krishna, was born and raised.

Here he performed most intimate and sacred pastimes with his beloved Gopi Radha and her associates, mother Yasoda,his brother Balaram and his cowherd-friends.

Many ancient written records have been translated.

 

It is often called the city of 5000 Temples because in the city and the surroundings (vraja) exist around 5000(!) temples.

 

The population is aproximated between 60.000 and 100.000 inhabitants.

It is located 120 km southern of New Delhi in the Federal State of Uttar Pradesh,

district Mathura.

In the middle of Vrindavan is situated the Temple "Munger Raj Mandir", where

the Premprasad is distributed every mornig and evening.
